Fed: Iraqi propaganda angers peace movement
CANBERRA, Feb 18 AAP - Peace activists today rejected Iraqi propaganda that claimstheir anti-war protests are evidence of international support for Saddam Hussein.
Greens Senator Kerry Nettle said today that many in the peace movement were angry andconcerned that their demonstrations were being portrayed in this way.
Senator Nettle said Saddam's regime had caused death and torture to many Iraqis.
"Our concern is for the Iraqi people, not the Iraqi dictator," she said.
Senator Nettle said she anticipated that the peace movement in Australia and overseas would grow.
