Volunteers sought to help save house: Conservator fears collapse of Cherokee leader's 1836 home.

Sep. 19--The National Park Service and two nonprofit groups are seeking volunteers to join a two-week effort next month to save the historic James Brown house in Ooltewah. Judith Broeker, program director of the Heritage Conservation Network, said the former home of the prominent Cherokee leader is in danger of collapsing. She said the walls and roof of the circa 1836 brick building need to be stabilized to ensure the structure survives the winter.
